The program seeks to improve the quality of life of small farmers, breeders and fishermen in Minia, Beni Suef and Qalubiya through the development of rural areas and enabling them to invest available resources and expertise to get social, environmental and economic competitive advantage through implementing a set of interventions which contribute to achieve the following:
a- Organize small farmers in official connections and organizations adopting their issues
Believing in working constantly to transfer small farmers from individual work to group work represented in farmers’ organizations that defend and express their rights, 1038 members joined the farmers’ organizations (819 men – 219 women).
b- Activate the role of woman and her participation
The implementation of income-generating projects for 166 women within multiple projects (breeding birds, sorting milk, breeding goat and sheep, selling vegetables and fruit) in work communities in order to improve the participation of female farmers in the rural community and enable her to increase the family’s income.
c- Capacity building
Hold 2 meetings to build the capacity of the elected committees’ members in work communities in the presence of 30 members 10 of them are women.
d- High production agricultural models
- Improve the productivity of small farmers and them implement interventions with agricultural models for 1976 of small farmers (1223 men – 753 women) and enlighten them concerning the good agricultural practices of the most profitable crops.
- Carry out 2793 agricultural technology models in using the agricultural residues in the production of organic fertilizers and improve the soil properties as 2793 small farmers benefited (2345 men – 437 women).
- Hold 16 seminars and meetings to raise awareness of good agricultural practices of 852 farmers.
e- Development of livestock
5916 families of the livestock breeders benefited from participating in the campaigns of veterinary care in collaboration with the Veterinary Service Authority.
