CEOSS seeks to improve the quality of life of small farmers, breeders and fishermen in Minia, Beni-suef and Cairo through the development of rural areas and enables them to invest the available resources and expertise to reach competitive social, environmental and economic advantage through implementing a range of interventions that contribute in achieving the program objectives.
During September, the following was implemented:
CEOSS continued working on transforming the individual work of small farmers to collective work represented by the farmers organization that claim their rights, where 378 members including 100 ladies joined the farmers organization
B- Activating the women’s role and participation:
Income-generating projects were implemented to 62 ladies ( i.e bird breeding, sorting of milk, goat and sheep breeding, selling fruit and vegetables … etc) in working communities to increase participation of female farmers in the rural areas and the importance of her role in family income.
C- Capacity Building:
2 trainings were conducted on advocacy strategies to gain support where 12 participants attended those trainings
D- Agriculture models with high productivity:
- Improving the productivity of small farmers through the intervention of agriculture models to 1,444 families and educating them about the good agriculture practices and the most profitable crops.
- 5 marketing contracts with the private sector companies were signed.
- 6 marketing products of 178 yokes of 147 farmers were marketed
- A field day at Sanhra Village in Qalyoubia to see the crops of corn, Tayson and cucumbers was prepared in cooperation with Fine Seeds Company with the participation of 110 male and female farmers
E- Livestock development:
39 families of the livestock breeders participated in veterinary care and vaccination of animals campaigns in cooperation with the government veterinary services .
