CEOSS seeks to improve the quality of life through providing equitable access to sustainable development, especially in the most vulnerable areas, communities and groups such as women, youth, people with disabilities and children at risk. Therefore activities of economic development program are implemented as one of the development programs within the unit.
During this month the following was implemented:
- Providing vocational training for 80 individuals (46 women and 34 men) on various types of vocations such as (mobile maintenance, computer maintenance, hairdressing, female accessories… etc.) this aimed at empowering them to get engaged in the labor market and start small enterprises that generate their income and allow them to live a decent life.
- Employing 27 individuals (13 men and 14 women) either after finishing their training or through direct employment. This is done through bridging the gap between the requirements of available jobs and the skills of young men and women.
- Seven awareness seminars were implemented in order to raise awareness of young men and women regarding the importance of self-employment with total participants of 226.
- Implementing the last phase of the project of economic empowerment of women and disabled which aims to exchange experiences among Egyptian and American youth; attended by seven members of the United States activists in non-profit organizations, and implementing field visits for two weeks to a group of associations and institutions working in the same field in Egypt.
