101 small income families in 10 communities in Minia and Beni-Suef have built and improved their houses through partnership with CEOSS in implementing the housing project. This project is managed through local committees formed from individuals concerned with the housing issue as well as representatives from partnering CBOs in those communities. One of the major concerns of these committees is reaching those who are most in need of the project and setting priorities for these categories. Moreover, one of the roles of the committee is to implement some services for the houses of the poorest of the poor. During this month the houses of 18 poor families have been improved through providing some basic services for them (such as pure water, wooden doors and windows…). This was achieved through activating available resources in these communities such as the contributions from the private sector, supply shopkeepers, handymen …).
