A workshop was conducted on designing and preparing internal bylaws that regulate the work of the elected committee in the project in order to achieve social and economic sustainability as well as civic participation of people with disabilities in 10 elected committees in Minia and Beni Suef
Also, a workshop was conducted on analyzing budgets for civil society organizations that participate in the project of securing a decent life for the poor and marginalized people. The workshop discussed subjects such as understanding the importance of the budget work, understanding and interpreting the legal framework for the budget process in Egypt, key stakeholders who participated in the budget chart as well as its time frame, searching for online information related to the budget, defining the basic concepts and terms of budget, reading and studying the key documents of the Egyptian budget based upon the basic results of the budget using the available documents, and presenting the results of the budget analysis using charts, graphs and tables. This workshop was organized for 12 of the project partner organizations.
In addition, a workshop was organized on designing, evaluation and follow up plans for civil society organizations that participate in the Project of Securing Decent Life for the Poor and the Marginalized. The workshop discussed a number of important subjects such as: management elements, project life cycle, indicator specifications, difference between the activities indicators and the results indicators, elements of the follow up plan, types of data sources, and how to prepare the follow up and evaluation tools. About 8 partner civil society organizations attended the workshop.
CEOSS also implemented 3 convoys of eye medical examinations for the early discovery of eye diseases that can cause blindness. The convoys were implemented for 289 persons who are at risk of blindness.
We also implemented engineering adaptation for 9 houses of people with disabilities in Malawy city and Deir Abu Henes Village.
In addition, CEOSS implemented engineering adaptation at the building of the social solidarity unit in Deir Abu Henes Village in Malawy, Minia and the Social Rehabilitation Association in Beni Suef.
70 people with disabilities and their families participated in the awareness raising activities such as panels, trips and camps for raising awareness about the rights and the available services for the people with disabilities at the health and housing relevant governmental institutions.
