Within the framework of implementing the project “Combating Worst Forms of Child Labor” which aims at protecting children from dropping out of school and entering the labor market in Minia, the following was achieved:
1- 64 economic enterprises have been set up for mothers of targeted children in the project amounting to a number of 15 enterprises in the Tella community, 13 in Menbal community, 11 in Saft abou Gerg, and 25 in Al-Koum Al-Ahmar.
2- Within the framework of protecting children and guaranteeing their rights, 25 vocational promotion contracts in Al-Koum Al-Ahmar community for 6 males and 19 females. This includes protecting the rights of the child at work: to work for 6 hours including a one hour break; the child’s right to a fair wage suited to the exerted effort; and the right of the child to a holiday.
3- Distributing rations in the form of 1055 sacks of flour, rice, and biscuits for 1055 children (177 male and 878 female) to children targeted by the project with the aim of protecting them from dropping out of school.
