My name is Mahmoud Abd El Hamid. I was graduated from the Faculty of Commerce, Assiout University in 2002. Since I graduated and accomplished my army services I have been looking for a job. However, I couldn’t find any. I searched for companies and other agencies that might need accountants, but they always require previous experience or having attended accounting courses and knowing how to deal with computers. I thought for a while, then I figured out that they are totally right. That’s because all the accounting work nowadays are being implemented on the computer excel sheets and other accounting programs. Hence, I decided to attend courses so that I could find a better job that matches my qualifications and education. I asked about the available courses, unfortunately they cost a lot, besides, there were a number of courses in my field such as the theatrical training, excel accounting and others. I couldn’t afford to pay all these amounts of money so I tried looking for any job. I worked in a clothes shop in Taha Hussein Street in Minia city as a salesman.
One day I heard about a project that provides free accounting training for young men and women. Frankly speaking, I couldn’t believe my ears. Is there any free accounting training on earth? I learnt before that they cost a lot. I agreed to submit in the course even if I was going to pay part of the fees. I went to the Islamic Families Association and learnt that they cooperate with the Coptic Evangelical Organization for Services in a project that tends to train and employ young men and women. I filled in an application and the association set an interview for me. When I sat for the interview I discovered that the whole thing is quite serious. I was asked a set of questions that revealed they needed young men and women who were in dire need to the training and its benefit. I answered all the questions, then before leaving they told me if I was accepted, they would call me in two days time. The training was conducted in a clean site in Smart Academy. It was exquisitely equipped for the training, besides; the trainer was a professor at Beni Suef University. Even the scientific material as well as the training content could enable and empower any trainee to work after accomplishing the training. I did my best to acquire the greatest benefit from every single word uttered by the professor. I recorded all his words and the association provided us with the scientific material on CDs. These were added values and advantages which I did not expect to find there.
Moreover, during the training time, we were told about the available vocations, companies and factories that where seeking accountants. They informed us that the Royal factory for cement was seeking accountants and an office manager. I went there and submitted my documents. I had the feeling that if I sat for that interview I would be more confident and answer all their questions as I acquired a lot from the training course.
Hence, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all who had helped me to learn and all this success. I have dreamt to work in my field of education for a quite long time. I wish more young men and women would benefit from these trainings and extend the training issue to enroll more and more people. I know other friends and acquaintances who are in real need to learn and benefit.
