The Managing Solid Waste project aims to establish a system for collecting and disposing of garbage properly. This is an on going project as part of the larger Urban Development in Western Minya program. Integrated and comprehensive development of western Minya requires solid waste management in tandem with additional sanitation, sustainability, and community initiatives. The Fager Gedid Association’s solid waste management project has led to healthier lives for the 200,000 residents of Western Minya.
- 10 waste management employees received operations following medical examinations completed in cooperation with Horus Hospital.
- 148 workers, supervisors, and drivers received vaccinations to prevent the spreading of communicable diseases that can be transmitted through waste and garbage.
- Capacity building trainings were held with members of the Fager Gedid Association to help them collect feedback and develop reports.
